Game needs an option to turn private messaging off completely
I am quite annoyed... or rather PISSED of getting private messages after a battle just because some - sorry but there is no other better fitting word for it: idiot did take my name for being of a certain nationality and thinks it's a good idea to send me some very insults, because he is completely lacking mature behavior.

I know I can report that jerk and I know I can put him on the blacklist.... both I will do, but this can only be done AFTER having received the messages and having to read said message - this really makes me angry. This is a game and should be fun, even a competitive game should fulfil that requirements but as WG has quite toxic communities this is just wishful thinking, complete deactivation of chat would solve much of it. And I don't think reporting will do anything. It's probably just a placebo so people get the impression their complains go somewhere.

Change that!!!

Reporting will do something. WG doesn't tolerate things like that as it goes against the code of ethics. Don't just blacklist though - that will do nothing. Send the report to the support with screenshots or replays.

Don't let someone who is banging on a keyboard in some basement upset you. They think what they think, you can't change that, but why give them what they want - which is to upset you? Just a thought.

Still does not solve the problem,,,, I'd rather do not get such messages in the first place. They pop up if you want it or not and if you - like me - are capable of scanning text in the instant it opens you'll have a problem (in my case I am at least annoyed, in some cases it also makes me angry). Having the option to turn chat off not only in battle would solve it. At least an option preventing auto-pop-up and auto-deletion after closing the game would be better than it is right now.

I rather ignore messages than having to report them. Which I still believe will not do much - at least not for me, as I was already FORCED to read insults. At this point the damage is already done.

You might be able to find a mod that does it. There used to be one that would turn it off in battle.

And you might take the suggestion to Discord. It's doubtful they'll notice it here, but they probably will if you make a post there.

Report with replay etc as above, blacklist as you have done. But, be a little bit more thick-skinned - the pvt chat is a useful tool for a plethora of good reasons and worth keeping. Accept that idiots will be idiots, report, shrug it off and move on.

If i had one of those I'd reply back with "I love you too" with a heart mark and kiss them for constantly talking to me. The best way to get pest is to kill them with love~ (works all the time and they shut up cause they know they'll receive more love from me ;D )

Or stop using provokative nicknames?

or you could get your winrate above 50% and stop sucking at the game ... then you won't get those messages ... your 'excuse' that it is your nationality is bogus. zero sympathy for a cry-baby.

A well written complaint would shock me, and probably scare me as i really would never expect that :-)))

But some nerd typing BS from anonymous behind a screen safety....hah, this is meaningless and not worth reading. If it is comprehensible to begin with.

Some people take even just apparent use of some language in your nickname as provocation. You'd be surprised at what people get angry about.
Had one last week that ranted the full battle in all caps against Polish and Czech people because one player on our team had a "CZ" ending on his nickname.

Now as to the OP:
Best I can recommend here is to ignore it. Give a -1 for chat abuse ingame. Then send a ticket to support in the respective category, attaching the replay and/or screenshot(s) (the latter if it happens in port, but maybe also the right spots in the game) to it. And then just forget about the idiot.
Stupid people will be stupid. It's not your job to reform them.

Finger on the pulse! Pretty good. Although I'm happy for people to bring it on :)
