Basically seems that new camos looks better, so art team is improving
I really like Roon, TBH. I'm a couple of matches off getting Cereberus unlocked, at which point I think I'll be using Roon to farm at least a portion of the remaining half of this weeks cruiser mission in potential damage.
Last year's AL event had camo packs in the premium store as well as boxes.
This year they're in a sequential random bundle in the armory.
I could never get it to work but thats probably a skill issue on my end.
It's not very good at pushing which is why some people don't take hydro on it, because a lot of other ships it could push into will out dpm it.
Yeah, it certainly is a odd duck. And yea, its probably a me issue.
Open water booty tank at long range (whilst not near friendly teammates so that the enemy can't traverse against all of your simultaneously).
Use spotter plane where necessary to reduce amount of interest in you at extreme range.
Position so nothing gets an angle on you and spam HE - pay attention to 457mm+ in particular, but most stuff will bounce or miss at long range, let alone successfully find your cit. Can just use rear turrets exclusively if you're tanking a blob of BBs who all want to take potshots; or can work in traverse / reload griefing some enemies if you want to unmask your front turret too but worry it might get punished.
As soon as enemy threats start getting removed so that you can safely push empty parts of the map, you move up to find broadsides and start using AP to just mug stuff hard where possible.
As you get more confident at booty tanking and reading the map, you can start getting closer (trading more safety for more battle impact) to support DDs early whilst still having the option to go dark and kite away if you draw too much attention.
Just baiting the enemy into wasting time shooting at you, and providing some vision from open water as the enemy bloom their guns trying to shoot at you generates a lot of tertiary value for team that isn't always immediately obvious.
Aside from that, just gotta pay attention to the overmatching threats, and keep reading the map to see when it's safe to position aggressively vs when you need to farm more passively.
