just get one and have it say you are in the americas somewhere.
Using a VPN will make your ping go higher.
That's a good theory but the opposite is actually what happens. If I play from Korea without a VPN, I can't login. If I use a VPN to set my region to NA however, then it works.
The same thing happens with the player support website:
https://na.wargaming.net/support/products/wows/
That works from NA but it won't open from Korea.
I think they must have recently changed something so that you can only login from the region where your account is... which really sucks for globe-trotters like me since it means a VPN is the only way to play the game now.
If you are playing outside of NA, trying using a VPN set to NA. That's the only thing that works for me.
(I created an NA account and play with my NA friends but I am currently outside of NA.)
