But, it IS gambling, and you CAN run the risk of getting junk or nothing.
With that said (and in no particular order):
Get Cossack - good gunpower and excellent concealment means it's always on-meta.
Verdi's pretty unique - SAP secondary build BB. Can be useful for farming.
Kearsarge is kinda handy in that while the rocket planes are striking they're providing vision for you, so you can force HE salvoes onto stealthy DDs. No idea if the upcoming CV rework will effect this, and it's up to you how much you value hybrid BBs.
Groningen is a beast - wins DD duels, burns down battleships, etc. Not necessarily worth getting if you have Friesland already.
Pommern - fine as a decent solid German secondary ship, but not sure I'd recommend given how many others there are available that can do broadly the same thing.
Borodino - bit squishy, low broadside weight, but long range radar and very accurate guns, powerful, but not sure how "fun" people might consider it.
Anhalt - bit unique for the Germans. Most people will hate that it's both slow and the guns lack overmatch. Personally I really like its one-salvo capability if you position properly - it's a bit like Marlborough in that respect (although if you have Marl, you might figure it's a waste getting this).
Constellation - really quirky. Not sure I'd recommend it, but it is very unique.
Chkalov - bit OP.
Hornet - fun but quirky, tactical squadrons mix things up a bit.
Indomitable - only CV in the game that can still slingshot, totally unique style, bit tricky to master that gimmick, but insane firestarting potential once you do master it.
Aquila - very hard to use well, but insane at farming CV rocket-ribbon missions.
San Diego - fun and great at killing DDs.
Tiger '59 - lowkey good, because it's great at killing DDs.
Bel '43 - needs a buff (and getting one on Rus server, natch), tricky to get value out of ATM.
Kaga - really powerful consistent torp-farming CV
Saipan - requires skill and game knowledge to make up for small plane pool, but if you have skill and game knowledge, its torp alpha is even beefier than Kaga.
Ochkov - considered weak by players I respect, but it's a radar cruiser that can punish DDs fine, and I've had good results in it.
Mainz - DPM beast.
I-56 - shotgunning beast, gonna get made relatively useless by incoming nerfs I think.
Hood - great boat, improved AP pen angles, pretty solid
Indianapolis - heavy cruiser guns, and T7 radar - but it's as squishy as a light cruiser. Requires game knowledge and skill to make it work, but when it does work is nice.

SO I guess now I am ahead! Thanks a bundle :)))
