best premium tier 7?

Hi there, what the best tier 7 BBs or Cruisers in the armoury currently? i was thinking the duke of New york or the Hyuga. The 410mm guns from the Ashitaka looks amazing. I see a lot of people saying Scharnhorst but i just dont have good luck wit germen ships. Any help?

Duke of York isn't real great. She's not that bad either, but her uniqueness (she has hydro) went away with the advent of German battleships. Basically her tech tree sister, King George V is quite a lot better.

Hyuga is extremely good - the best according to stats.
Scharnhorst can be very good, but it's a different play style.
Hood is my personal favorite despite being a poor performer on overall stats.
Florida is pretty good.
Ashitaka is not very good at all. Her guns are good, and she can get really good slaps in but she has deplorable armor and weak AA.

For cruisers I'd go with Toulon or Maya personally. They're both almost to the point of being overpowered. Both are #1 and 2 on stats other than Belfast which isn't available. (Not to be confused with Belfast '43)

It has small guns for a battleship, so you need to pay a lot of attn to which shells you shoot to maximize damage. While most battleships rely on AP shells, Scharnhorst's smaller guns won't get good pens sometimes. But if you reply on HE all the time, you'll get a lot less damage overall. To do well with her, requires more knowledge of the ships you're fighting when compared to other battleships.

Not super broken or they'd have been removed. But they're very good. They all have ~54% average winrate.

Collingwood is a blast to play as with its big guns and reload booster. Bit of a glass cannon but a lot of fun.

Ashitaka. It gets the same 10x410mm as Amagi at tier lower. And Amagi guns are some of the best ever at T8. It loses some of armour, but it's the best T7

I feel like Maya could be best described as a Japanese CA (which are pretty good in my opinion) with good torpedo angles. And that does make it a very dangerous ship.

Ashitaka isn't bad in my opinion. But it is very tricky, since you just can't take the same amount of punishment as other BBs. It definitely is something of a glass cannon. Good mobility for a VII BB, strong main guns, actually pretty decent secondary. But do get caught broadside or just focused in general and you're gone quickly.

atlanta. you are a dds worst nightmare. radar, smoke, torps, lots of dakka. can also be effective against larger ships if you target superstructure. only issue is it's made of glass and the gun ballistics are absolutely horrible

I like the Poltava. Mostly because it's probably the most beautiful ship in the game. AP also slaps when you get a broadside.

Atlanta is very depending on play style though. It can be really good, but few players will be able to make it work well.

Yea, Poltava isn't too bad really. Very poor side armor though, but good guns for her tier.

Atlanta doesn't have smoke and can often damage larger ships with IFHE.
