Game no longer loading - Hangs at logging in

HI,
I've been playing WOWS for a while now on my system, it's a Linux Mint system, and I've played the game through Steam for a while now. Just the other day, it's decided to break, it tries loading the game, switches to logging in, then the spinner stops and it hangs.
I'm getting a crash log, which says Message: Unhandled exception. There's the crash file data in the spoiler.

Can anyone give me any clues as to how to fix my game, please?

I thought it would hide the text file, and put a button to open it up. Is that not how it works here? IS there a code box or something I could use? I just didn't want a post with screeds of text

I'm having the exact same problems since 2 days ago. the game just freezes on login.
If I try using Proton 6 I can log in, but then the game crashes/freezes on trying to post an in-game chat message!

The same here! It worked flawlessly up until 2 days ago, then died. It just loads the game, gets to the logging in part, then the circle of forever stops. And I found the crash logs. I've tried Proton 5.13, 6.3, 7.0, and Experimental and all of them fail, 5.13 won't even get the loading screen. I'd tried verifying files, even uninstalled, and re-downloaded the game, and it's still the same. Unhandled exception. I get the feeling we'll have to wait till another update is out.

same here - doesn't matter which linux I use - freeze on login - annoying... :/

I my case it freezes in Lggin In and when I open something on the UI that have a textbox. In game when I try to send a chat message the same. When I try to write on a division and whatever that is related with textboxes.

Anyone find any additional fixes for the team chat crash problem? I tried using the latest GE proton version (52 or 53) but I don't even get into the game and instead get a critical error on the desktop. The only solution to get to playing the game I have found that works for me is running the game on Proton 6.3-8 or 7.0-6 but it still crashes the game on these when I hit enter after typing in a chat message during game play. Until a real fix comes or some workaround us Linux users are just going to have to learn not to use the in-game chat function.

Just to update everyone, I have got the game to work today, using Proton 5.0-10.
Versions 7.0-6,and 6.3-8 would load and crash at logging in. 5.13-6 wouldn't even load the splash screen. I've finally tried 5.0-10, and it loaded and worked. Loading time was a bit longer than normal though, I did think it was going to glitch out at first. But it's now up and running for the first time in several days.
So just posting results incase it helps anyone.

Proton 5.13-6 seems to be suggested as the fix for most people. But if that doesn't work for you, try 5.0-10.

I get the critical error warning on the desktop when using the Proton GE versions and the game refuses to start. Some of us it starts up and works for the most part on some of the Steam Proton versions but using chat to type a message during a match crashes our game.

dunno then - it works for me without any issue- and I use it only for this game
