Mod Station/MODS

I started playing the game last winter, my buddy kept suggesting I get mods. I finally gave in 2 months or so ago and do really enjoy them but how come it seems there more down time than up time on the mods. I come from world of warcraft were mods are updated with the game weekly. Can any long time players give insight?

B/c big mod-breaking patches in Warcraft aren't monthly. This game gets a big update every month.

Personally I don't like mods, they don't offer much benefit that experience doesn't already offer; Also whenever there's an update the creators have to update the mods as well so you're stuck waiting on them.
When I have used them, usually it felt like they were updated quickly, but yeah you have to wait on whoever created the mod to update it for the new patch.
I used to use some but just got too lazy to reinstall the mods.
I think the last patch actually had quite a lot of things, and new lines and stuff.

If using mods to speed up the agonizingly slow crate crane and opening animations is cheating, then i guess i better be banned right away because i'll never stop cheating.

Edit: Oh and removing all camos too. If anything that's a handicap because all the gaudy neon colors people paint their ship.

They are. Hence why they said "to me". If that's their personal opinion, that's okay.

Don't even need a mod for that, there's a gear just above the ship carousel at bottom left

That only gets rid of the camos that are listed there, not all of them unfortunately.
