I quite agree! And Washington. It still puzzles me why that battleship was never added despite the fact it was the only one to fight a 1v1 battle and win against another battleship.... but yes, both are needed.

Nevada 5 or so. Possibly 6 if they did the end war variant. She's same class as Oklahoma that we have, but she got heavily modernized after Pearl Harbor whereas Oklahoma was a loss there. Washington is North Carolina's sister.

Yep both are no brainers. Washington should be like NC but with better accuracy. T8 and I’d buy her in a heartbeat.

Well Technically 2v1 but the SoDak pretty much checked herself out. Did manage to be a useful “Tank” though.

I don't think SoDak engaged the battleship. It's considered a 1v1 duel as part of the overall battle despite DD's being involved. Washington engaged one with her secondary battery while firing on Kirishima. I don't remember exact times right off though.

Yeah it was a bit confusing. Yes SoDak was targeted and hit by Kirishima (just once) but not apparently by AP as nothing penetrated. The theory is that Kirishishima had her guns and ammo hoists loaded with HE or “Beehive Shells” for Henderson Field Bombardment and was sunk by Washington before she knew what hit her and change. Once SoDak cleared the burning US DDs and blew her burning scout planes over the fantail she went dark and retired to repair and lick her wounds.

As far as I understand, South Dakota is credited for taking fire from Kirishima because that kept Kirishima lit up for Washington (this notably was a night engagement). Washington only opened fire once in close range (5.3 km), taking the Japanese group by surprise (and immediately crippling Kirishima), as they were focusing fire on South Dakota.
