Fair enough.
Atago was launched in 1930. She's only, like, 90 years old! That's just too young for me.
Mikasa-daisenpai, granny of the century, 1900-1999.
On a more serious note:
Remember, that feeding trolls is bad. I just like throwing them scraps of Laffy Taffy sometimes.
But really. Give me muh Mikasa.
As long as it just cartoon images they drool over at least it keeps them away from the school gates
It's only people who have a moral compass who object to it
You have misunderstood the point I was trying to make as well (but I thank you for not making lowbrow personal attacks like the other one did).
I'm trying to say that if the kid is too young to view anime then he's too young to play videogames about war. Whether or not they're gory. If my son were too young to learn about the birds and the bees, I wouldn't want him learning to aim artillery either. I didn't say anything about whether the images in question should be used to promote the game or not.
It was more social commentary than anything. Sex is perfectly ordinary human behaviour that 99% of people will engage in at some point. Killin' folks is not (at least in modern times). It's strange that we (in particular Western societies) treat one as bad and dangerous and the other as normal (providing there's no blood!).
Perhaps so. But only so much as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue isn't pornography. The line, in this instance, is quite grey.
All I would say is that they could have used much less provocative images and still drawn from the anime crowd.
It's a collab with Azur Lane, and it targets fans of Azur Lane, such as myself. I actually didn't start WoWS until this collab was announced, and a person who was being semi-cautious with spending in a new game, I ended up picking up Enterprise and Cleveland as a fan of the characters. Some months later I ended up getting the full pack, but early on I was being selective.
As such, they want to pick characters that are popular in Azur Lane to encourage us to spend money. Though, that said, Azuma is the character that featured the most prominently in the current art in WoWS, and she has no established fanbase yet, since she was just added to Azur Lane as a crossover ship in the second wave of the WoWS collab, and grinding out the WoWS units in Azur Lane takes A LOT of time.
In general most of the picks that ended up in the WoWS side seem pretty obvious to me though. Nelson and Montpelier surprise me a bit, but the others are pretty safe bets in my opinion. They're all easy to like characters that are generally pretty high-tier if not outright some of the best ships in their classes.
This time around I picked up the full second wave and Dunkerque to go with Dunkerque. I'm very much in love with the ship and having Dunkerque in Dunkerque is a huge plus as a fan of the character. She's very sweet, despite her severe look.
Having a hard time justifying spending as much on a ship as a full game, so I haven't picked up Yukikaze, but I'm tempted. Having the Sakura Empire's emblem featured on the side of her is nice, and in general I just like the design.
Also yes, I'm well aware I spent over well over $100 on commanders rather than ships, but that's more of an extension of my Azur Lane spending to me, which I'm absolutely willing to just dump money on. As someone who's been spending on the Azur Lane game, as well as buying the anthology manga, novels, anniversary art books, and various other merchandise, spending on more Azur Lane is a no-brainer for me. Buying a ship feels less like Azur Lane and more like WoWS, while Azur Lane commanders feel very much like Azur Lane.
Anyway. Point is: Character choice matters. It not like they could have picked literally any Azur Lane character for it to be as effective of a crossover. As a long time fan of Enterprise in Azur Lane, if they hadn't had Enterprise in the first wave, there's a very real chance I wouldn't be here today.
Don't get me wrong, I personally would prefer not to have anime in the game either (thank god for the in-game filters) but appreciate others like it and it will have drawn a lot of revenue in for WG which is good for all of us. I haven't even seen these images, or at least if I have they haven't logged in my head as provocative or anything else, I've probably just ignored them. I tend not to take notice of cartoons unless it's old Beano comics!
You're quite right and OP can change it whenever he wants. However with the personal attacks it's getting close to being locked anyway.
I'm pretty much blind to most non-blatant fanservice at this point though. Azuma's outfit looks totally normal to me. I just happen to know the name of the style.
Azuma aside, Belfast isn't prominently shown in the promotional material. She's part of the first wave, and as one of the most popular characters in Azur Lane (as in, the early in-game popularity poll event in Azur Lane ranked her at #1, even above Enterprise, in Japan), is pretty much an obvious choice for a collab. I think Enterprise is the better character (not ship, they're in totally different classes obviously), but I'm pretty sure Belfast having far more sex appeal helped her along. She is one of the best cruisers (if not the best, even now) in the game though, and it's not as if I think she's a bad character. I just really like Enterprise.
Enterprise doesn't have her own novels though. Belfast does. Though, so do Laffey and Ayanami, and neither of them are collab characters.
Defending something you like is perfectly normal. You would do it too if somebody were to criticize something you like.
As for me I like Anime. I have many characters I like, some because of their design and some because i like the character.
To be honest i never understood why people are so obsessed with hating Anime?
Is liking Anime/ Manga a crime now? Judging some comments in this thread apperantly yes, which is completly nonsense and sad.
Edit: Noticed through the comment below that my message might sound a bit aggressive. My bad and wasn't intentional. I should probably stop being sarcastic (or atleast try) when i write stuff, because i have a rather strange sense of sarcasm or humor.
So sorry if you got the wrong idea. I just like to annoy trolls. :)
