The game Carrier Command, instead of this game, so you don't end up populating it with another one of those "things".
Nepgear Jun 25, 2022 @ 5:46pm
American

I would have to agree with Nepgear here.

I'm going with American also.

I would say Japanese

Try American CVs first, then Japan and only after that consider the others because they hyper-specialize into certain playstyles.

Brit CVs have the toughest planes (in general) so not a bad idea if you are struggling with plane losses. They are also arguably the best for going after DDs (and damage over time effects) which encourages you to teamplay in your CV.

heavily disagree with "best for going after DDs". If you want to hunt DDs, its better to go for USN CV line instead since their DBs doesn't lose accuracy when they turn. their other squads are also useful against CA and BBs without relying on dot damage.

If it's about fighting DDs only, I actually agree with Banzai here for the simple fact of the British HE bombers. They are if not the best, then at least the easiest planes to go after DDs with. Also the British line has the advantage of all plane types being useful against DDs, while other nations usually have at least one type that isn't. (HE bombers of the USN for example just not dropping enough bombs to reliably attack and hit DDs with. Good if you hit them, but most of the time you don't.)

American CV is the most user friendly. Go with that. Do not rush up the tech line though. Focus on averaging good numbers and a positive win rate at T6 before moving up. You can check out my channel for CV games. Have any questions just let me know on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMP8MRwEwXdAXcoMaDXABuQ

Brit CVs didnt have their rocket planes changed as much as other nations (very short lead time needed for them still) and while good/experienced CV players will still land rockets with USN/IJN/etc its a lot easier for someone new to use the Brit ones which fitted what the OP was asking.

The HE bombers and even the torp bombers are also good versus DDs so you have a lot of options versus them. This coupled with the (in general) better survivability of UK planes means that they are more new player friendly than other lines. For raw power then other nations are arguably better, but personally Ive sunk plenty of Hallands (pretty much best AA DD in the game) even in the T8 Brit CV which frankly isnt possible in lines with weaker planes unless the DD player messes up.

I appreciate Im focussing on killing DDs here, but that should always be a CVs priority if they want to win the match (if you see a CV focussing some bottom tier backline BB then you can be pretty sure they arent very good at playing CVs). Plenty of time for sinking heavier targets afterwards, and once again, damage over time is very helpful for your teammates especially if you let them know a particular target just repaired a flood/fire.

Each to their own anyway.
