Slot when buying a ship?

So when i buy a ship i get the option to buy a slot for 300 doubloons .. is that slot in port for the ship itself or is it a slot for equipment on the ship?

Port slot. If you have a free slot then you don't need to purchase one. If you don't have a free slot I'd recommend you selling a ship you don't play or a T-1. The T-1s cost zero credits and their equipment can be sold for 1/2 price making it the most economically way to gain a free slot.

It's a port slot for the ship. Avoid buying them unless you really need to; you can get a couple free slots each month through completing enough daily missions, and occasionally they will go on 50% discount, so if you really need more you can save up until then and buy them in bulk.

Never ever buy port slots. You will just get them anyway. This info coming from a freeloader player (mostly) but I have about 70 ships and have never bought a slot.

In my case i buy slots.Actually T1 can be fun to try again too.
If you play the game why not give a little to those that made it.
I believe you get +2000 dubloons for the price of 2 chocolate bars.
Not a hard price to pay. Buy port space for them and keep your ships.
That is a small price comparing buying ships wich is not cheap...
Anyway that's what i have done. Do what ever you feel mate

Black friday gave you a chance to buy them at 50% off I bought 60 slots for 9000 doublooms a savings of 9000 doublooms so when I unlock all my ships In game only have 35 slots left. All ships tier 5 thru 9 are unlocked just half my tens are left and I'm done. I will unlock lower tiers that will take the rest of these slots , and pushing my ship count from 275 to at least 340 ships........look for those deals next black friday..

Sounds like a dream when doing naval battle. Other players need to keep inside the range they have opened. I have 74 ships and thought i had a nice group to choose between.
That must have taken a looooong time. But how can you open lower tiers later???
Did you sell them earlier?

Just grinded them and never bought them yet passed them up tier 1 thru 4......I don't play low tier that much 8s thru 10s.
