if you don't have premium time in WoT and don't care to have your account connected to 2 games get it on steam
In your situation the only real benefit for having WoT + WoWs account is the Premium time - because it is shared between the games (World of Tanks, World of Warships, World of Warplanes). So, if you're considering buying Premium time AND playing WoT, you should definitely use the standalone WoWs client and your current WG account.
Otherwise, it's up to your preferences. Standalone WoWs and Steam WoWs content is the same, and all players share the same servers. Your gameplay experience will be the same regardless of the plarform you choose.
Thank you for being interested in our game, and have fun!
