Even the Community Moderators are Speechless I take it...
However if you don't contribute in a match, or make an extremely silly and critical decision which can effect the outcome, some ♥♥♥♥ will be flung. And it might be justified, but expressed in a juvenile manner. Sometimes I've had to eat that ♥♥♥♥, and justifiably so. Sometimes people fling it when they don't know wth they're talking about.
And sometimes I've served it.
There is a thing called "Constructive Criticism" and this is what is lacking in the Game.
It's OK to point out that someone's made a Mistake, so long as you be 'Constructive' about it. Even when I lose it and go all out at someone over the Chat, it takes a lot to get me to that point, but I point out what they're doing wrong in a Constructive way. Suggesting to them where they've gone wrong, and how to rectify it right there and then.
What it usually takes for me to get irate in a Game when someone's made a Mistake...
> Ramming my Ship on purpose without changing their Heading or going into Reverse
> Shooting at my Ship (multiple times) when there is nothing to shoot at
> Ignoring a Ship (mainly Destroyers) that then proceeds to shoot at me
> Leaving the Carrier (me most of the time) undefended when they clearly need assistance
> Abusing another Player in a Match regardless of what Team they're on
> Bullying... I have a ZERO Tolerance Policy, and will Report ALL Bullies
Even though I might get irate with other Players, I don't Belittle them, and I don't tolerate anyone who does.
I shouldn't have to be forced into Playing PvP because PvE isn't rewarding. The Missions that Require a Player to play PvP, is just punishment.
I shouldn't feel like a Victim in PvP. Nobody should. One shouldn't feel intimidated or at risk of intimidation just for playing in PvP. There shouldn't be any form of Bullying even occurring in the Game at all as it is. The fact it's this regular is a clear sign that WarGaming is doing Jack S### to prevent it, or is otherwise not doing an adequate job of keeping Toxic Players out of the general Playing Community.
Without even a simple Match Making System in place, the PvP side of the Game is frankly just an abomination. Those Players who genuinely haven't played for very long, are simply targets for discrimination and slander, and bullying.
IF I could get a refund, on the grounds that the Toxicity of other Players is just too much, I would snap up that Refund so quickly, I'd leave a smoke trail behind in its wake.
Also you can just Ctrl+click > right click on name > Blacklist. Is this really hard? Whichg brings me to...
Question: Why are words so hard to ignore? This is the internet. It's been around for a few decades now yet somehow expectations are still high.
I will also second the suggestion to report and blacklist players that behave in such a manner to you in game--you won't see them again on your team.
That Report Function gets worn out... I'm sick of having to click Report every time something happens, and someone starts chucking the Toxic Sludge around.
My point is, this shouldn't be happening in the first place.
Your point of "Why are words hard to ignore"... I have got to assume you were NEVER Bullied at any point in your life... Ever.
I always got this response at School, and always from the Teachers who never got Bullied at School or at Work or anywhere else for that matter. Those people who've got no idea what being Bullied is actually like. Those people who never got picked on for not keeping up with the Jones's. Those people who don't know what it's like to be socially outcast from every activity. Those people who don't know what it's like to go hungry just because they got held back by a swarm of Bullies who ambushed them on the way to the Dinner Hall. Those people who have never known what it's like to have objects thrown at ones head every single day in the Classroom. Those people who have never been victim to assault, or been used as a Human Punch Bag. Those people who have absolutely no clue about what the foot of a size 10 Boot feels like on their face. Those people who have never lost a tooth to some A###H### who thought that you'd look better with one less tooth in your head. Those people who've never had someone throw various objects at ones spine, and watch as everyone else around in the PE Class laughs around them. Those people who've never had to stand and watch as a Teacher stands idly by as you get kicked on the ground. Those people who've never had to call the Police because they know what's coming next is a broken rib, or a fractured pelvis, or a ruptured spleen. Those people who have never had to suffer, lying awake at night every F###ing night for five Years strait knowing that each day brings the very real possibility that they may not see the sunset on the other side. Those people who've never known what it's like to be alone, and afraid, always having to watch over ones shoulder for the next P###k who just wants to eat you alive... IT ALWAYS STARTS WITH WORDS...
So, when you ignore a Bully, they believe that they have won. When you continue to ignore them, they shift opinion of everyone else to that of said Bully. Letting those Words slide on by is conceding to defeat, and allowing that Bully to win.
In this Game, when I've tried the Ignore approach, I tend to find that my own Team has actually turned on me in agreement with whatever Toxic Sludge flew over my head. The Shot across the Bow then turns into a match of everyone having just turned against me.
So, with all of that, I say that your Argument of "Just ignore them" is INVALID, as it doesn't work like that.
Sometimes, you get those people who have had to deal with so much S### that they are just left Broken, and are about ready to go Postal. A Gambling man has only to wonder why they haven't flipped yet. The Front Pages poised to print the death toll.
Extra Extra, read all about it...
People shouldn't push those who've been pushed too far... They tend to push back eventually.
Most dumb, already saw one player asking if Hyuuga was a "new chinese virus" and stays all the match discursing like Trump, and a player testing submarine saying he hopes all sub players get cancer irl.
Just block/ignore them, or else you never will play, its a free online game, all human faces you will found there. I dont have any social media, and every presidential elections my friends says about my lucky to avoid people at internet.
Try Blacklisting Somebody, when that same person has multiple Accounts in which to Bully you with. Try ignoring someone who is using some sort of means in order to negate being Blocked even when their IP Address should be Banned from the Servers (Rockstar Games).
You can say that Ignoring them works well enough, but then, you've never had your Identity stolen or your Computer Hacked.
I'm just that Unlucky, that yes, I've had all of that S### happen to me, and I've had my Identity stolen multiple times regardless of how careful I've been on computers. Top that with the uncountable number of times I've had my Computer Hacked, and it's a wonder why I haven't just gone and moved into a F###ing Cave.
You can Click Ignore, the same as you can click Report. However, let's face it, it's up to the Game's Admins to put measures in place to avoid these Situations from cropping up in the first place. An ounce of Prevention is worth a pound of Repair. If more is done in order to prevent these Problems in the first place, then People wouldn't need to be wearing out Report Buttons as there would be fewer incidents that required reporting.
