How do I change my nickname in the game itself?

It should reflect my Steam name since I changed it and yet it still shows my previous steam nickname in the game. Please help.

It is because your nick name is tied to wargaming and not steam. Steam just acts as a launcher. The War gaming servers have you listed as whatever it was when you made it. (or at least this is my guess. I could be wrong)

The nickname in the game is not tied to Steam nickname.
You can change nickname by logging to the portal here: https://wargaming.net/personal but it's a paid operation (2500 doubloons), unless you're eligible for a free change — for example if the nickname contains some personal data or breaks the rules.
Also it's not a momentary operation, takes some time.

I installed the WoW via steam and it never asked me anything about username. And now it is Player_"numbers". Whats up with that like?

Sorry to say but it certainly would have asked you for an ingame tag to use. If you chose one that was already taken then it informs you of that and makes suggestions. The only other thing that could have happened is that you input something that was against the rules (swears/racism/etc in your username) and the game censored it and gave you a generic "player_XXX" tag.

If you wish to change it you will need to contact support using the method described above.
