Most people rate fighters the worst consumable (me included) in the game because they dont really scout nor shoot planes effectivly, they were way better when they had their RTS application of giving panic attacks over the striking aircraft.

What do you do? why, you suck it up buttercup.
Sometimes teams will sit together really well and make it almost impossible to get through the AA. Most of the time though you will see a ship or two alone, these are the ones to go for.
Even if you cant get close enough to hit you can do other cool stuff, like revealing that HE spamming cruiser that can be 1 shot by your BB's. With cruisers and BB you should be able to spot them from just outside there AA range, just gotta stay there and play spotter while the cruiser panics that hes detected haha
Lots of DD's have terrible AA as well so you can get into there AA range and spot them, as long as you stay out of the larger ships AA behind them. Sometimes if a DD has really weak AA i will just circle above him while the team sorts it out. If they got good AA then il try and get my hits in because its gonna be a shorter spotted window.
Sometimes you dont actually have to be causing damage in a CV to be really helping your team out :)
