Get Montana, not Yammato.

I definitely found myself playing Yamato way more than Montana. Always reliable no matter what the enemy comp is.

I like Montana and play it more. I don't feel it's any better though. They're fairly equivalent just different play styles.

Montana can "Tank" a touch more (due to decent heal) than Yamato especially as people know how to HURT you with those "cheeks" but the Yamato can punish other BB's at a consistent rate of HP! So one is more a "closer in" cruiser and BB hunter the other sits farther away and uses huge guns to over match most ships scoring it's damage!

one thing to take into consideration is the Monty has pretty good AA for a BB so can look after itself and help create decent AA bubbles - Yama can be left wanting if alone and an FDR or MVR want's it removed!!

All in all it depends on the player and what style of play suits you!!
My question back is why stop at one when you can get both!!???

Get both. No seriously, they are good at different things. Monty is the cruiser killer with guns that offer volume of fire and little overpen issues while Yamato is the battleship eraser.

But if you'd make me choose, I'd play Yamato simply because I have more experience in her.

Great insight, however I'm not a BB main, at all. So, I have a few BB's. Now I'm playing the Montana, maybe next year or longer will get Yamato as I have Yammamotoooo captain


Update: Consisntantly top 5 or better. Anyway am 1 and done with Montana...just not a good ship to solo in if you aint uber BB pIayer. had 33 battles (13 victories 20 defeats), lost my ass and did nothing but pay in credits -135,000 over and over. Wasted signals as well. Way too much of a crap shoot if your're not in a division, and I hate Vegas.
Better ship with friends prob. Rather play Ohio at least I can grab credits. no more T10 BB's for me for a IONG time.

I'd say that Montana being better at hunting cruisers is debatable. Most cruisers at tier 10 can make use of their 30mm midsection to bounce Monty's guns while Yamato doesn't care about angling and will punch through regardless.

Monty would probably be better only if they sat full broadside, otherwise I still think Yamato does the job more consistently.
