HOW TO BUY ANIME COMMANDERS

I INSTALLED THIS GAME ONLY FOR THAT I CAN'T FIND THEM IN THE SHOP.

No seriously, I installed it for the fun and since I like Mechwarriors I wanted something new, and i'd really like the anime commanders. There is 2/3 of them no ? I saw it adverstised somewhere.

Collaboration with ARP ended, there's no way to get them on new accounts now, only old

Collaboration with High School Fleet is going on, they've announced something's coming in 2018 winter. You could get 2 HSF captains with purchases at premium shop, but it's not possible at the moment too.

At the moment the best you can do is installing graphic mods that makes captains look like anime characters and installing voice mods to add their voice lines(including from ARP and HSF commanders that you don't have!). I've also seen voice mod on Kantai Collection, but as it wasn't made with game in mind - some commands would likely be missing or sound weird. Though as they've introduced new voice commands later - ARP and HSF commands are incomplete as well.

Well guess i'll just wait or uninstall. That's actually really sad, I hate real-steel-war thingies and it could have done the trick well. And I really don't like modding.

Only question I could have is "is it P2W ?" since I don't want to stick on a game on which buyers gets ingame advantages. And is the community active, will the game die pretty quickly ?

EDIT : is it sure some anime commanders will appears during 2018 ?

Other players won't hear or see your captains anyway, and they may even choose to hide those ARP/HSF skins as well, so it's only up to you really. Yeah, forgot that you can also add anime mods to change appearance of ships.

Well, it's not P2W for sure, but without paying something it would likely feel grindy. You can reach and access anything paying player can, anything that provides some battle advantage can be purchased with credits as well. Only economic and XP boost items are paid. And premium ships too, but you don't really need them much, unless you really feel you want to play on it often.

So it's not P2W but
1) getting to high tier ships will take ages
2) getting commander skill points too, and this does provide some battle advantages
2) since you earn less credits you'll be reluctant to mount consumables and camouflages that give some battle advantages. But there's no OP premium ammo like in tanks.
With paying only for premium account you can feel and play this as normal pay-once game IMHO.
Community is pretty active on all servers, you won't see long queue times unless it's night or you're a subject for noob matchmaker. This game has been going for several years already outside of Steam, about 2 years ago it became open beta, so it's pretty stable now.

Different game realms may get that content at different dates but usually it reaches them all. If you're mostly interested in that - you can create account in Asian region but
1) ping might be worse
2) due to timezone differences you might get long queue times
3) not everyone there speaks English

That's just filters. You can't get ARP now, and you can only get HSF some time later, maybe including 2 initial HSF captains.

Okay thanks a lot, this "gold ammo" thing really pissed me off in WoT, and i've no problems with grinding at all. If everything can be accessed by all players that's perfect.
I'll try to focus on this game a bit, hope I could find some friends to play with.

Well, try it, shoot me if you have more questions.

Remember that you get 1 premium day when you reach account level 9, make the most of it! You'll see then how it feels with premium time.

I think this game is very decent, and i'm not a big lover of F2P MMOs at all, yet i still play this one(though mostly only during ranked and clan battle seasons).

You'll meet far more anime-haters inside the game(especially non-asian region) and official forums, lol Haven't seen many of them here yet.

And try mods really, they regularly cause constant holywars since some battle interface modifications can provide some minor advantages, but all other mods that are just for looks(and hears) are absolutely harmless and can compensate that you can't access that anime content now. And there would be never enough of this content in the game anyway(partly because of haters), so......

A large portion of the playerbase would riot if they did and I likely would stop playing. The game is mostly just pay to advance faster but not anywhere as grindy as most MMOs.

I earnt the ARP ships without knowing, I actually want to sell them for port slots IMO as the actual stock ships are far better.

ARP ships are the same as regular ship with top modules except for ability to mount camouflages. You can hide them in port via filter.

I feel there are P2W elements in the game. Though for a free to play game, I find them within my threshold for acceptance.

I'm a purist, anything that is not cosmetic only is technically pay 2 win. Pay to Advance in my book = Pay to Win.

With that said, you can have a good time with this game absolutely free.

ARPs were free as far as i know.
HSF were sold but i haven't seen the prices.

I noticed the HSF Graf Spee yesterday on the NA store but I'm EU so holding off buying the normal Graf Spee at the moment, is the HSF version coming to the EU store at all please?
