Question about the 1500 doubloon Commanders in the Arsenal
Hey everybody,

Was thinking about getting one of these Commanders. I had another 10pt Commander in my inventory but its for Pan Asian and i rarely use that faction. When trying to use that commander though i noticed something with retraining costs so thats why i wanted to ask this question.

If i want to be able to use that Arsenal Commander with all 10 points do i have to pay 1500 + 500 or however more doubloons it costs to retrain for the ship i want him on and for him to be able to keep all 10 points?

Yes. 1500 buys him, 500 to re-train him into whatever ship you want him on. But don't forget you can retrain him without using doubloons although it takes longer. One way to do it is retrain him for credits, then put him into a premium ship to retrain where all your skills will work.

If you have any spare elite commander EXP, you can also use that to retrain the commander.

Do note that all the commanders that you can get in the Arsenal, weather for coal or doubloons, are special, meaning that they get bonuses to some of their skills.

I dont play the game as much and i stick mostly to coop so my xp gains are pretty small. I might just end up doing a full retrain so that i can use the 10 points right away in the ship that i want them for. Thanks for the info guys.

Special, unique or regular commanders — they all follow the same retraining rules, so it's unclear what have you noticed with retraining costs. If you can clarify that — we can give a better answer :)
The only notable difference of special commanders is that some perks have a bit increased effects, that's all.
