How do I use Hosho properly

Your best is just to struggle trough , tier 4 CV is all just a bit ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to play.
Just focus on cruisers and Battleships and occasionally a dd
60k to get Ryujo
Play a few games in Hosho if you never played cv before and then use free xp to get tier6 ( if you have free xp)
Ryujo is really so much more fun.
Don’t waste modules on fighters. HP for Dive bombers.
HP is important for IJN planes , they are less strong then USN.

Don’t let tier 4 discourage you , tier 6 is really nice because the ships aren’t fully AA strong and the damage you do is pretty good.

Thank god I got a supercontainer with 50k free experience and bought Ryujo after 26 Hosho battles. Tier 4 CV gameplay so boring.
1. Attack T3 and T4 ships first place.
2. Watch the minimap, sometimes it can save your a-s.
3. Try to support green DDs at the beginning of the battle and counter red DDs.

Sadly I cant dump all 3 torp planes at once.

Nope , long live the cv rework

The future isn’t always better ;)

But in higher tiers you get 2 planes per drop.
And Midway has 3 planes per torp drop

Curiosity here, but why does my Citadel hits only do 3k, I can't find myself useful in most games.

CV game play has changed from alpha strike to a damage over time class, plus it's only tier 4. Also damage isn't the only thing, at that tier spotting is just important which at that tier is arguably just as, if not, more important.

1 play vs uptier = suicide so 60% of the time you just need to find the weak ship for just pay your maintenance.
2 you can be spotted from 10km but lost the visibility of a dd at 2km
3 everyone want kill you because you are the easyest target, secondary guns shot very slow and randomly.

Maybe cv's are good for support but no one play for the team so if you are unselfish ok otherwise sell it!

I just played T VI maybe you are right but will need to much time and cvs are to much limited for now, i prefer take back credits and buy maybe buy again if they will do some change.

About your citadel only do 3k

A citadel causes the maximum bomb damage , so if your divebimb have a maximum of 3k damage then the citadel will be a 3k damage hit
In higher tier when bomb damage increases , citadel damage also increase.
For example , tier 6 have a single maximum bomb damage of 6k , then when you hit a citadel , the damage will be 6k. If you manage to hit a double citadel, you will get 2x6k damage

And Data, if you decide to sell it, sell it in port, then you will keep the ship researched and can buy back later, once you sell it in inventory , you will have to research it again.
