Just a side question ; is it possible to SEE if a ships AA is damaged or out of order?
No, it's not.
And it's not just "In the right hands", the lodeout of ♥♥♥ CVs has a lot to do with its effectiveness. 3 fighter squadrons against one doesn't usually end well.
WG is planning on bringing this game to the console.... and CV play just isn't compatible with the Gamepad... so.... they are revamping them so that they will be playable with the Gamepad....
So, basically...
Get ready to say goodbye to the current RTS play style of the Carriers.
I don't get it. The more I think about it, the more I think CVs could be controlled by a gamepad without any more difficulty than other ships. I'm not a console player, but I do have a controller I use for some games.

But the best player on a CV always have a bigger combat influence than on any other ship class. That's quite OP.
If you're close enough - you can see AA mounts being wrecked in binoculars or maybe just being dark(there are some mods to make it more visible). Or you can just presume it if the ship has been under HE-fire and bombs for some time. No precise meter of course. You can presume that most ships at ~60% HP have lost good portion of AA guns already.
BTW short and mid-range guns are extremely squishy, they always fall first, and that's what you need for successful strike. Ships with Defensive AA fire still pose some problem of course.
Mobile WoWs currently has gameplay similar to PC, with some simplifications, no manual attacks for fighters and dive bombers.
But there is always an “ if “ ;)
As for AA on ships I have learned that if the ships are 2 tiers higher than me I simply avoid them unless I really have no choice. but if I have done a good job as a carrier commander, then the skys are clear and my team took relatively little damage thanks to my fighters.
Equal as in ?
Is it equal that only 1 or 2 tb/db survives to make the drop ? With the hangar capacities as it is that means after 3 or 4 runs the carrier has to participate as a rammer or secondary kisser.
I don’t want to offend anyone but you can’t base something as OP with some players are exceptional good as standard and then nerf it. Then the low/medium skilled players are useless ( including myself)
It takes a long time practice and then still a person is medium.
Making the cv weaker just disencourage the new captains to even start to play it.
It is a team play and if you sailing lone wolf with your BB or CL/CA then it is not the CV that is OP but it’s you as captain that you have to reconsider your position on the map. If you stay with your allies then it is very hard for a cv to make a decent drop.
I know this message will not make me popular but it is as it is. Most kills by CV is because of wrong enemy positioning and not an super powerful airsquad.
Watch some videos, etc.
It means skill requirement should be made more even, so the difference between battle influences of potatoes vs unicums becomes smaller.
> Making the cv weaker just disencourage the new captains to even start to play it.
Making easier to play and more interesting, not weaker.
