Granted, Germans have buffed secondaries anyways; but any captain (user) can play the sit back game, it's dumb but welcome to the Wargaming community.
The current meta supports that sort of gameplay, because random battles often aren't 12v12 anymore, sometimes it's more like 1v23 and playing how - like in your example German BBs - some ship lines are expected and were designed to be played, brings your ship down below the water surface far to fast.
Didn't you end up in games where your team was down by 3 - 4 ships withing 3 minutes? Some peoples reaction to this is running away or staying far, far behind where they should be. People are less afraid of losing games than taking damage. Sad but currently reality.
There's various articles online that state the Gneis, Scharnhorst & Tirpitz were all battlecruisers.
(((thinking)))
In the case of Tirpitz I doubt this. Present sources when making such a statement, please.
the biggest issue with this game is most think this is a "shoot as many as u can as fast as u can before u die" type of game. it isnt. DD's scout and snipe targets of oppertunity at close range, cuisers support DD's and bb's, and BB's support cruisers and occasionally protect carriers if they are close enough. mainly people all just split up and go there own route, leaving the rest of the team to pick up their slack. no matter how good the ship is your in, you are inevitably only as good as your team and the quality of their planning.
i would also like to add that, altho my german t8 bb's can hold their own, and win in most cases, against a t10 bb, my post above refers to an even match of tiers.
Then again theres no firm definition of a Battleship/ battlecruiser anyways.
I bet if you coordinate with supporting BBs in chat you will get more to commit with you on a push. Problem is, often in PUG games I commit to push only to have support backout. Battleships have hard time undoing a commit on a push.
