+ Alt battle interface gives you the distance your crosshair is at as well as the time it will take for your shells to reach the targeted distance.
+ You can then use the marks on the Dynamic Crosshair to work out the correct lead for your target.
+ Practice, even with this information your going to miss alot at first, especially against targets moving diagonally or trying to evade.
+ Different guns have different travel times and shell arcs, this will probably throw you off a bit when you first unlock a new ship.
Oops, i linked the wrong video, that's the one i wanted to link:

Should teach you everything you need to know. :)
Good luck hitting anything over 10km. At those tiers, BBs are practically shotguns, dispersion-wise...
What you should do, is to use islands as cover to get close to the enemy, and then attack them from mid range.
This isn't quite true, you can pay for them if you really want, but most of the time you'll get them for free just playing the game. From memory, there also isn't one that improves your main battery gun dispersion, only secondaries.
With regards to the dynamic crosshair, again from memory, the time marks are based on a ship moving at 30 knots sailing at a broadside to you, so you still need to adjust the lead depending on the speed of the ship you're aiming at.
The video DeviousDave linked is out dated (although I only just found that out myself when checking), Notser released a new one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlkHHew_hss
Change your crosshairs to the dynamic crosshairs. Look at some of the how-to aim youtube videos out there. But to give you an idea of what you are doing. Your gunsight has a fixed calibration. You take your range to target, your shells flight time and the speed and direction of the ship and lead your target based on all the info. The range to target and shell times are given to you on the hud. Its up to you to estimate the speed of the enemy ship and you do that by observing it. What ship class is it, or if you know the specific ships capabilities how fast does it go. What direction is it moving in, does the smoke leaving its smoke stack indicate its moving at a slow speed, a fast speed or is it going in reverse and so on.
For example if you are looking at a DD in your gunsight you know that they average about 35-40 kts top speed. If that DD is moving perpendicular to you and showing you its full broadside then that means you would look at your dynamic gunsight and see what the range is to the target and what the flight time is to the target. Then you look at the tickmarks on your sight. Those tickmarks are calibrated for 20 knots. So if a ship moving at 20 knots says that your shell will take 5 seconds to get to it then you put the tick mark "5" on the target. Since DD's move at 35-40 kts and the sight is calibrated to 20 knots you need to double your lead. So a DD moving at 40 kts that says it will take 5 seconds for your shell to reach it will need to be placed on the tick mark "10" or maybe 8 or 9 on your gunsight.
It might sound confusing but just think on it for a bit. Also watch those YT videos since to get a better idea of the concept. And it might also help in game if you got yourself a T3 or T4 cruiser and practiced your aim in one of those. The USN or Ru Cruisers might be good for that purpose. They have a lot of guns at those tiers so that means more chances for you to practice your aim.
