Omaha? That's one of the best, if not the best tier 5 cruiser in the opinions of many players.
But, really, you should try conserving free EXP. It's really useful for some things, and there are even a couple of premium ships that you can only get for free EXP (the cheapest being the Nelson for 375.000).
Hahahaha you're hilarious. Omaha is a piece of hot garbage. The top 3 tier 5 cruisers are:
1. Furutaka
2. Kirov
3. Murmansk
Notice that omaha is not on this list.
I've not played it so I can't speak to its performance first hand, but what I've heard is that it's like an omaha with an even bigger citadel, even less armor and even less range. So basically the worst tier 5 cruiser by a long shot.
On EU the top 3 are the same, but Omaha is third from the bottom, topping out over Furutaka (Emerald is still the worst). Interestingly, Krasny Krym is above Königsberg, Kirov, and Marblehead Lima (in that order).
Well, wowsnumbers combines all data of all patches/updates, and the Furutaka was buffed some time ago.
In addition, you actually need knowledge about the game to play the Furutaka well, since it's got very few guns and a high reload. On the other hand, those guns a t9 guns. Yes, the very same guns the Ibuki uses. At tier 5. And before the Ibuki buff, they even had the same reload.
That means, on t5, you can easily citadel battleships, overmatch and citadel cruisers and hit with an incredible accuracy for a t5 ship at 12 km range.
The Furutaka can probably beat any ship in a 1 on 1 and afaik it was the most popular cruiser in the t5 ranked season.
However, that doesn't mean that it's the best. Because of the low DPM, it has troubles dealing with destroyers, and new players (or players who lack knowledge about the game mechanics) might have an easier time with the Omaha.
The stats, especially on wowsnumbers, often don't show the full picture regarding the performance of a ship.
But the Emerald is really the worst t5 cruiser/ship. There's no doubt about that.
Interesting. Players on EU are overall more skilled than the players on NA, I wonder if that's influencing the ranking of ships in terms of skill floor.
For what it's worth, I liked the Omaha well enough. I wouldn't call it a bad ship but it's not a great ship either.
Also, I find it odd that the stats indicate the Marblehead is one of the best preforming ship while the Omaha is one of the worst. The Marblehead is pretty much an Omaha (and some would say a worse one). To me, this suggests that the Omaha ships are quite good if used right, but a lot of inexperienced players bring Omaha's stats down (it is a squishy ship). Of course, it could also be that the players who have the Marblehead are uncommonly good, or a combination of the two.
