The game has more than a hundred very highly detailed warships and about 2 dozen detailed maps and ports, wouldn't call it small.
And seriously regular HDDs are quite cheap nowadays, and there are far bigger single and multiplayer games out there, complaining about size wouldn't get you anywhere.
2. That is a normal size for games like these!!
The models are relatively simple as compared to more complex games... however, the footprint is Ginormous for game of this type.
Could also be rendering engine that is not very optimized. BigWorld is the Australian company that makes the engine.
my guess is combination of Video and BigWorld with a smidgen of developer laziness. It is easy to keep adding to the recipe... it is harder to manage assets that no longer have parent.
Five years later, it's more like 60-70 GB. It's ludicrous.
Show me one game with more detailed ship models, I will wait.
