How to play the Kawachi???

Hey, not trying to be a baby or anything - I'm actually here to get better at the game and stuff.

So, the Kawachi... tier 3 battleship. I suck at it >.>

Basically, it has a base firing range of 9.9 km when the USA T3 battleship has 14.2-15.7 and the other nations have a higher base range than the Kawachi dues upgraded.

My question: How do I play battleships that get outranged by other battleships?

kawachi is garbage hahah and myogi gets even worse, and i have the yamato grinding the early IJN BB line is always painfull but is get a lot better in T5+ when you get the kongo and the world is not grey anymore


So my advice is to play safe, try to sneak up, play the objective, stay with the team and against other battleships dont ever show your broadside, stay angled or you will get punish!

Step 1: Head for the nearest enemy battleship
Step 2: Fire your guns while doing a bull rush to the designated enemy
Step 3: Ram

Rinse and repeat until you finish the kawachi grind.

The T3 BBs of USN and IJN are pretty bad. This is probably an artificial gate to reduce BB population when the game was new. Right now, the new T3 BBs are competitive and have powercrept the first two T3 BBs in the game.

The community actually calls the kawachi "Self guided torpedo mk1".

My grind was not a pleasant ride either. It has terribad dispersion and you are slow as molasses. The real fun starts with the T5 IJN BB. Myogi is also pretty bad due to bad dispersion coupled with only 6 barrels. Not the mention the rear heavy fire-power.

I suggest to get just 1day prem-time (it's pretty cheap) and use it fully to unlock kongo quickly.

This is the worst ship in the game- very few get good results in this

but in more seriousness just go guns blazzing and try to ram any big ship then get past it as from there on out things tend to suck less (untill tier 9 but we don't talk about that #Ballanced ship)

It has the highest number (12) of main guns in game (along with Fuso and Montana). Unfortunately they aren't positioned rationally, which amkes aiming at long range a nightmare even with modern systems. Developers didn't want to turn this game into a simulation, thus they simply reduced it's effective range.

You'll have to get very creative with this ship, but it can still be dangerous. Use islands and allied ships as a buffer when closing in. When in combat, switch sides to use guns on both port and starboard sides. Alternatively, you can position yourself inbetween enemy ships to use all guns without having to turn. Just don't do that when enemies have torpedoes.

This ships is tricky to use, but it can be rewarding too. Unfortunately, you'll probably unlock the next one way before you'll get the hang of it.
