PSA - US Cruiser split
For new and returning players, WG is currently working on having a Light and Heavy cruiser line for the USN. The Tier 6 Cleveland will be getting a buff and moved up to a Tier 8 Light Cruiser. Tier 6 is easy enough to obtain of a week of casual play, but tier 8 can get expsenive and grindy. When the line is released your tier 6 will be placed in T8 so make sure you purchase it and its upgrades while it currently remains at T6.

Been holding my Cleavland since release and can't wait, was my favorite in closed beta. Makes a great scenario ship not sure I want to go back to the Pepsi for scenarios though, was one of my least favorite US CA's.

Pepsi in T7 was unloved at most, because at Heavy Cruiser Stage, the AA is chappy in a crappy.
DFAA only can scare than just actual killing planes.

But im glad Pepsi is now going to T6 Stage.

I hated the Pepsi-Cola as whenever I saw it I was usually up teired in my new mexico.
The Pensacola would always set fire to me constantly so I have a vendetta against that ship.
If I see it and it is on the opposing team,
It must die by my shells.

This thread should be sticky because it's a really good way to get a free T8 light cruiser in the future.

There's also a good Thread about that topic on the official WG forums.[forum.worldofwarships.com]

Weird... The new Cleveland will be a light cruiser, but the new Pensacola will be a heavy cruiser. Wouldn't it make more sense for the new tier 6 light cruiser to get unlocked by having the old Cleveland?

So, how exactly will this affect someone who has multiple US cruisers?
For example, I have the Cleveland, Pensacola and the New Orleans in my port.

You'll get new ships that take their place + new versions that got on different tier + credits compensation for any duplicates that might appear.

So, would it benefit me, if I sell off my Pensacola before the split?
I'll get the new one, but if I fill the port slot before that, would I gain 2 port slots?

Eh, about slots - i'm not entirely sure :/ Need to ask or wait for official announcement.
About selling - i think you get compensated in full price and when you sell - you only get half. So if you care about credits - maybe it's not the best way.

The differance between light and heavy at least in US Navy is gun size. Light had 5 or 6 in. Heavy had 8 in at least IRL.
