This game is great. Do not think of it as world of tanks, but with ships. It is its own thing.

The game is a lot of fun and very rewarding. Generally (with two or three standout examples) premium ships are not overpowered. Premium time isn't forced down your throat, but it does make grinding nice.



Overall, I cannot wait for this to come to steam (been waiting on it for a while). I only wish I could merge my War Gaming ID over to this (that one is Viper101). Guess I will be stuck with Messerschmitt101 for a while ;-;

I said it and I'll say it again that the HMS Belfast is the only truly OP premium ship. Saipan is a carrier which has a higher learning curve , it is very overwhelming with its T IX aircraft indeed , but if you master the art of CVs and manage to do well with it you probably deserve it.

Everything can be countered by something else (except British BBs which are non-premiums , f*^%@king braindead shiptree WG pls fix) . This is what made WoWS kinda un-P2W-able.
-Missouri* and Black are again , indeed OP but as I said, they are not acquirable through microtransaction , hence making them not P2W. Which is your original point. *Missouri not too OP if countered properly.
-Gremyashchy is OP only with the right captain.
-Nikolai doesn't appear that much in MM anymore. It is undertiered , not overpowered , considering the Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya is pretty much the same ship but a tier higher.
-Atago has been powercreeped as say Flamu , and the New Orleans with buffs imo is now pretty fire , my NO never lets an enemy Atago escape in medium-close range.
-Scharnhorst is pretty fun , but the gun caliber limits the ship. The counter to this Pocket Battleship is REAL Battleship.
-Blyskawica is good but not OP. Like any other good destroyer , US DDs , Grem , Fujin , Kamikaze , etc ...It can be EASILY countered , by , say , an Atlanta. Or any other cruisers with respective tiers.
-Flint not acquirable with money. Ughh.
-Flamu just literally list all the premiums you should buy. The rest are good , but not OP nor P2W. Tirpitz countered by another KM BBs , and most of the Tirpitz players are just campers which is sad really. Warspite is okay , I sink her atleast twice per day with NM. Ishizuchi has the luxury of not meeting higher end US BBs , but nevertheless countered by KM BBs (not gonna include RN BBs because they counter EVERYTHING , lol).

Paying $30+ for a virtual ship you'll expect some unique experience. WG has done / will do exactly that , each ship bring something else to the table , and most of them do have things that pale compared to their nonprem counterparts. None are uncounterable , except maybe Belfast.

I insist that ships , premium or not , can only perform as good as the player's performance. A great example would be Tirpitz , good ship ruined by campers.

What makes this ship apparently easy to play is players in low tier are inexperienced , you can't call a ship OP when 60% of the enemy players are newbies.

P2W equipment/vehicle/etc... is identified when people can pay an affordable price to aquire them and they have the capability of making players who would otherwise be average/below-average a very good/god-tier player in that particular game. WoWS is one game that can't really be said as full of P2W items , your vehicle can only perform as well as your performance. Unless WG pull the bull**** and introduce premium shells or having the Arleigh Burke as a premium , I don't see WoWS becoming P2W anytime soon.

There always has to be that one hateful troll, right? I'm so sorry that a few premium ships are above average, but I routinely beat them all with my many free ships. With all the different ships, some have to be better than others. Still looking for that "click battle to win" ship, LOL. What works for me is practicing with just a few ships I know well.

If anything Cruisers are the worst class to play.
It is not pay to win at all.
Pay to grind? Maybe. And you don't have to play high tiers, nobody forces you to. I am perfectly fine sailing around in my tier 7 ships and coming away with about 100,000 credits IN PROFIT.
