Also it is hard to actually observe the sails and trim them at the same time, so for new players such as us with little sailing experience we have to refer to the UI for any help that we can get.
I have noticed that sometimes you can chase your tail so to speak when trimming. Sometimes, the wind will drop off briefly or change and the trim will go out, but if I leave it, 30 seconds later it will revert back to the way it was and become perfect again. Had I changed anything, I would have had to change it back.
So my tip would be: Sail in skills level Basic mode first. Use the Helping Hand button to optimize your sails and watch what it is doing.
We will also be adding more advanced to tutorials on sail trim soon. Those should explain a bit more about WHY you would need to make your sail more flat or curved. Whereas the current trim panel only tells you THAT you should so that and HOW you should do that. I think that with more background understanding everyone can become an expert.
That would be really nice.
