Suggestions Thread.
Thought I would start a suggestions thread so the Devs can have somewhere to look at the thoughts of users on suggested improvements.Constructive criticism please.

Thank you you made a simulation that many people had been waiting for a long time I think.
Here are some suggestions of the player that I am:
-Possibility to create his pro races with just a start and arrived at the beginning (to simplify things) I think that is expected by many players.
- Online classification available to be able to be placed (final classification and or intermediate classification during a long regatta Every 1/2 hour for example).
-A shortcut outside view fast without being forced to go through all the views of the boat.
-Parameter of keys.-
-You have a game very accés on the simulation, continue in this field more simulation c is what everyone is looking for (more races online manual tuning). Win a few knots with fine tuning it's really nice.
-The details for me (coastline etc) are not a priority this can be improved much later, I play is already very beautiful. It is crazy that birds appear or other details that is not the priority for this kind of game. The buoys phrare are already present and well modeled throughout.
-No collision boats ca will avoid the trolls that rot the parts of other players.
-Introductions of tools on the map (compasses for calculation of distances etc).
- The RV is in my opinion not useful on this game contrary to the opinion of a few players and who are a minority.
Thank you for this beautiful simulation.

I just mention it in some other posts.

- SURVIVAL
1. if you build a cabin - We can sleep, recover stamina, make food, preserve hot and cover from rain.

2. Manage food, batteries for lights, Fish pole for fishing. Add animals.

3. repair system, so break system included. Option to dive to fix something? We travel to see different landscapes.

- HARBORS
As said, give us the assets, allow modders and they will come along.
Trees, houses, cities (same. Give us the assets)

- LITTLE BOATS
We can make fun races with little sail boats so we also understand how to sail.
Also motor engines to help in some situations. Of course here comes the survival mode. Limited ammount of fuel.

- SEXTANT
Nothing more fun than can be lost and found again. Give us a sextant to navigate as old times. You have accurate skies? Use them! Of course we need an almanac or we can use the online ones.

- ANDROID / IOS APP
To control our boat when off of the computer.

- RIVERS.
Give us the options to go inside big rivers that comes into sea. Or lakes.
So make water more transparent and refractive. (let us jump off the boat to a beach!!! :) )

Well.. thousand of ideas could come. In your hands you have something that lots of users wanted to have. I think we are lots of flight simulators comming also here, and the way those sims progress is because modder community. People wants to travel to see things around.
I don't know how many people are in the team. Maybe not too much, so you cannot hanndle big changes... but for sure you have something good here. Hope everything goes well there.

I agree with almost everything in here!

But the first things I notice are the lack of coastline detail, and other immersion factors such as seabirds, fish, dolphins and whales...

Noticed the winds stay constant, this is not normally very realistic. Allow variable winds (depending on situation), gusts, slight variations in direction and velocity. The sound to go with it would be even better! Like a gentle "swoosh" when a gust of wind comes through.Immersion is important!

When thunderstorms are present or even within 20-30 miles, allow us to see the "distant gentle" flashes of lightning... this really sets a mood! The trick is the "duller" look of distant lightining due to visibility. Of course if you're very close to the storm or in it, huge white flashes that give whiteout on screen would be a good immersion addition.

In my Experience wind shifts are simulated. Just sailed the 38 footer across the Bay of Biscay and down the coast of Portugal. The wind was varying constantly as it sometimes does.

I would pay for a hobie cat.

I also second having the perspective shift to view the sails when adjusting them. I never look at the rope when making adjustments, I look at the sail.

I would vote against any sort of survivalisim/endurance component. This is a sailing simulator, not a sailor simulator. I don't have to do my pilots taxes, or figure out which horrible hotel I'll be staying at before my return flight in X-plane. I can see why others would want it, and it's an intriguing idea, but it's a huge rabbit hole and I'd rather see development time put into more boats/quality of life improvements.

I've enjoyed what little I've played so far, looking forward to seeing how development pans out.

seaweed.

1) Mouse Hover and Scroll to controll sheets, halyards and lines. (without it changing view or perspective).
2) Floating box (like Nav Panel) That we can control lines with. (Observe and change from any view/vantage point).

** Either of these (or both) enable one to work the sail shapes and tell-tales while observing them from any given angle. ~ Real sailboats dont have a trim-tab, so i'd like to play without having to use that feature (immersion and realism).

Last - Maybe have a "Survival Mode" where you can knock-down, swamp, sink .. or maybe even have equipment failure, fires etc.

:) Excellent simulator, I am very thankful for the Dev(s) for it's creation - very helpful for a new sailboat owner that is still learning. A few expansions on sail controlls would be perfect.

We should be able to choose the Time of Day, and weather....
As it stands right now, when I get home the area I would like to sail in will always be twilight/nighttime.... thats not always what I would like!

Also would love to see Track-IR added!

Just had a great moment nightsailing and panning up using the mouse to see the sky - I would love to play this with a head mounted display and head tracking, if only to look around while the boat is on autopilot

- option to chnge weather, day & time settings for my sailing spots.
- extra window for the map that you can open by pressing a key. At the moment the map is attached to the gauges and when you maximize the map, the gauges also add some space in between them. Then when you close the map the gauges stay in position spread over the screen. Different windows for trim, gps and map would be prefered.

Workshop integration (at some point):

What I am thinking of was the following.

At the moment the harbours look quite dull.

What if you could give us a basic set of port structures (concrete/wooden, blocks, planks, moorings, a couple of road loayouts, some car/boat/ship prefabs to place, storage halls, lightpoles, trees, lighthouses, etc...) so really only basic models that you could expect to find in most of the harbours worldwide.

Then players can "claim" a certain area, e.g. around there home town, sailing area and start designing the harbours with these prefabs in an map editor.

This layout of structures could then be uploaded to the workshop and is available for others to download. When you download it, you are presented with the build of the user. If you don't like it, unsubscribe and the map is back to normal. It just functions as some kind of map design "overlay".

If two people claim the same spot or their builds are overlapping, well, just choose one of them.

Just a proposal to evaluate on.

lots of good suggestions here. I wanted also to have the ability to break sails and wreck the boat, even sink. Then you have to wait a couple of days to get a new one. And it should be possible that other players have to tow your ship to a harbour if you brake your sail and cant move anymore. And this game needs a map where you can draw and set markers to calculate the speed and route of ships you see at the map. And it would be nice if the temperature is displayed.

- Having ability to not see other players and our boat on the map. So that we can use it as a traditional chart for navigation for us those who doesnt want to use gps.

- Binoculars please!!!
a few topics and items i think that would help the game become a big deal both for the boating industry as well as the gamers
- involve the real world companies and invite them to showcase their boats through the game and have 1 to 1 copies of them

-add customisation to your boats ie, mast sizes and heights and material( carbon/ aluminium), as well as keel options, rudder options and deck arrangement

- involve raymarine and b&g and the other top navigation gps ais companies and invite them to allow the implimentation of their navigation and real live weather to be imput into the game, also allow to customise the placing of navigation on deck and be able to click and pop up in a small window but still working in the back when not windowed.

- allow water transparancy so we can see the keel in lighter waters and when the sun is behind the camera reflecting off the keel.

it would be nice to save boats and have more than one of the same boats saved in multiple places.
but ultimately it would really cool to win money from races to buy boats and win more money with your own boats and you can rent boats with a win fee

-also invole the sail companies like doyle and northern sails and get them to impliment their digital data
