Who ever played pokemon and though "wouldn't it be so cool if 2 out 6 of your pokemon were replaced by boring human that didn't evolve, had no interesting ability and couldn't be replaced!"?

At least they could have made it so they had an S form to give us more flexibility.

Oh cool, would be nice if that was from start cause at them point I guess they'll have enough miracle gem slot to actually be useful so not using them is handicapping yourself.

the gems help but in the end I ended up taking the two brothers out of the towers :p

First of all yes, you should be able to bench the twins way earlier in the story.

I'm going through the postgame now and not having twins means you don't have access to imprisming (kinda irrelevant at this point tbh) champions (useful in some situations) and Mega Mirages (not needed, but nice to have in the extra dungeons)

So yeah, the twins are nothing special per se, but give access to these mechanics... it's up to anyone to say if it's worth giving these up in favor of another mirage
