it seems like you have to pick the one you want. do you want the portrait, or do you want the hair? you can't have both, lol.
also, the irony is that you will eventally end up covering it with a helmet anyway, because going without a helmet guarantees a quick death due to headshots and eye shots.
I mean, you are kinda just stating the obvious there? :P Plus I feel like you haven't really understood my original post, so let me clarify:
I picked a portrait of an asian man with BLACK hair and a black BEARD, but ingame the character model had instead BROWN hair and brown GOATEE.
Even though black hair variant AND a full beard already exist in the game, which would 100% match the portrait more. My goal is to simply fix this discrepancy.
I have already found the tools to do so, but the changes do not stick - which is another thing I am trying to solve.
And yes I am aware I am gonna put a helmet over him anyway, but if I want to RP an accurate portrait portrayal through the character, I should be allowed to do so or at the very least - find a way that lets me.
I hope that was clear enough. :)
TL;DR: Portait has black hair and a full beard. The 3D model that is tied to it does not. I want to fix that.
okay, yes, i misread your post asking for help on the save editor to mod it in the way you wanted it.
i merely pointed out the irony of myself putting so much effort into something that's ultimately going to be covered up by a helmet.
edit : this forum is already dead enough. you don't want to chase off any potential fans, do you?
players like to see their character's face and hair, but then we also need that helmet for protection.
more modern games nowadays are putting graphics options in there to "hide" the helmet so we can still wear it but, don't have to look at it.
now, i know my thing is different from OP. I misread OP. i thought OP was annoyed that the face and hair doesn't match the portraits. .
side question :i read somewhere that the character portraits are mugshots of real people who got arrested for breaking the law and the police took their photo and all these portraits are photos of real criminals. is this true?
It's all good, my man. I didn't mean to come off as antagonistic or anything, so apologies if I did haha. Just wanted to clarify my OP, is all. :D
Thank you for the response. I suppose that's fair. I gave it a little thought since then and in a grand scale of things it's not something that stops me from playing the game anyway. So I guess I'll live with it...
