Mycelium cult quest

I'm on the part where they ask me to kill the pig. I don't want to kill the pig though. But this is a main quest that eventually leads to the end of the game right? So I'm forced to kill it. I wish they could have let me lie to the cultists or something.

Yeah, you need to kill the pig.

I mean you don't have to kill the pig, you can always choose to just murder the cultists and try forcing your way through their base.

Well since the inside of their fort is the final endgame area i'd suppose you would need to fairly high.

Oh its certainly easier to kill the pig, and if you take the talking animal potion he admits he wants to die. All that really happens in following the questline is that they send you to different zones, which you can go to any time to do quests there anyway and level up.
