it still leaves a couple questions unanswered though.
if I wasn't meant to be able to resolve it peacfully, why was my character given the dialogue option to offer to settle it peacefully?
i mean i guess in real life, stuff like this can happen.
but like, why does the guy automatically start off hostile while he's being attacked by wolves?
does he somehow know someone is out to kill him and when he saw me coming towards him, he just jumped to the conclusion that I was obviously the one sent there to kill him and just starts shooting without assessing the situation?
but then , he was being attacked by wolves, when would he even get the thought to attack me while there was a more immediate threat?
i dunno. i guess the devs wanted to make sure the guy dies no matter what? so even if the wolves don't kill him, he literally just throws himself at you like a madman, leaving you no choice but to kill him?
.
.
i see later, when you turn in the quest, you have the option to either tell artemyev that you killed the guy or that the wolves killed him and when you say the wolves killed the guy, it almost seems as if artemyev doesn't quite believe you. . .
or was this just poorly written, and they didn't expect that you might somehow kill the wolves before they kill the guy and try to resolve it peacefully.
I was kinda expecting to see some sort of speech check where you tell the guy "look, someone wants you dead. You probably should go somewhere far away"
