Meet Alexander at the beginning of the game??

Hey guys , I am starting my 3rd playthrough of the game and I was super surprised to see Alexander in Katya's bar 5 minutes into the game! I've never seen this before and he has full fledged dialogue reacting to Katya and the bar keeper. He chats pretty normally but I can't recruit him. How is this possible? I thought he is only available after you liberate Red Fighter and start building it up?

My new character's stats are

STR: 4
END: 3
DEX: 8
INT: 10
ATT: 10
PER: 4
LCK: 4

Has anyone ever seen this?

It's random who will show up at the bar.
You can only recruit him in Red Fighter.

You have to meet the 3 worm guys encounter before you can recruit Alex at red fighter.

Not really, he just arrives seemly randomly. I always avoid the three worm guys yet I seem to meet Alex in the Krasno Pub anyway.
But like sorenthewild said, you can only recruit him in Red Fighter

Thanks you guys. I guess in all 100hrs of my first two play throughs I never saw him outside of Red Fighter. Mystery solved. :)

ps: @bunny de fluff He appeared at the beginning of the game. My first visit to Otredonye , so no 3 worm encounter is needed.

If you do the taste testing quest for the bar lady(can't remember her name atm), then he's always there when you wake up after passing out.
Wasn't me mentioning the three worm guys.

No matter where you met Alex first, the 3 worm guys encounter is the prerequisite for you to recruit him at Red Fighter later. IF you have to low survival to get that encounter you will never be able to recruit alex.

In my last 3 replays I refused the encounter, and still were able to recruit Alex. Sorry, but your theory dont hold.

I don't know whether you have to go into the encounter, but triggering it is a must.
