Safe Storage
Is there places where you can safely store items and they wont disappear or get stolen?
If so, is the safe in the starter town a safe place to store items?
Thanks

I used the lockers above the bunker and never had anything stolen. You can go so far as to just drop items on the ground on maps that aren't random encounters and it'll usually still be there. Stuff that can be used in combat might be picked up by an NPC if a fight breaks out.

yes, in the starter town at the abandoned house with the super rat in the basement. That's the best place, use the 2 lockers in the room, best place until you get the player base and then the car.

when or how do you get the player base?

After Red Fighter quest you will get your own house base.

Hi Mutant. As far as I can tell, every container is safe as long as it is not in a randomly generated area, i.e. avoid placing anything during a world map encounter. As to where the player base is, it's called Red Fighter. It's to the north east of the main City. You have to do a quest to take ownership of it, and you need some pretty decent gear to do it. The quest starts in the hospital of the main city, It's given by the guy laying down in the far left bed. I think you may need Fidel to activate it.

Garbadge containers are not safe. (like the one outside the weapon vendor in KPZ)

palora is right dumpsters are no good. they work for a short time but eventually something will spawn and replace your stuff

Other than dumpster contents, though, I've never seem anything vanish. A pile on the ground is safe; any containers are just a step up in convenience.

(I often edit a bunch of boxes onto the porch of Katya's Tavern, just for early-game convenience. No in-game advantage, but it helps me be more organized.)

I could have used the mechanic's bunker but instead I'd stash extra stuff in my old hunter homie's house. His rifle claimed many a rat, bug, deer and hare.

In my opinion the best place is the Factory, in the building close to it. But if you get the car, despite it has only one container, it's the best option.

A first play is burdened by the amount of stuff you keep, a next play would be quite different, even more if you don't intend use crafting at all.

I had a stash in almost every location, but my main stash was also in the Factory. Lost some loot because I did't know that dumpsters respawn loot. I collected almost everything, so I don't know what exactly I lost.

After getting the car I made a trip around the map to collect everything only leaving the junk behind. Now I must decide if I want to sell my 500 empty bottles in KRZ for 25k cash or just smash them with a brick for up to 7k XP.

I didn't used the factory itself, the abandonned building close to entrance, there's 5 or 6 close containers, it's very practical. The base never work because the bad design idea is to close it when you do any repair. Moreover it is too much outcentered. At end it never works well, or you do a long grinding phase.

Not anymore. They'll take anything that you wouldn't normally find on the ground if you leave the area. Even from containers. I tested today. If you leave the area to the world map, only one container will persist. If you have stuff across multiple containers, all but one will disappear. Including stuff left on the ground.

Looks like a bug.
