A question about the game opening and it's consequences (spoilers for new players )

So as soon as you start the game you are ambushed, and I always thought defeat was inevitable. Turns out that is not true, as some people seem to have been able to win that fight, earning an ak47, a big bag and 500 exp.

My doubt now is, is that victory aknowledged by the game? Because if you are beaten you meet the bandits again later in the game. But what if you kill them, will they stay dead and will the game replace them with another encounter later on or will they show up like if they had won? Did anyone who defeat the first enemies ever got to the point in the game where they would appear and can say what happens? Maybe a dev can say? I'm thinking of starting over, and I'd like to try and beat them as long as it doesn't cause weirdness in the future.

No consequences for killing them. They will be replaced by stock bandits in the encounter you would meet them, that's it. You will miss like 2 lines of dialogue.

Oh, so the game actually accepts the fact they are dead and replaces them? That's fantastic! If only there wasn't a patch "to be released soon"... But that settles it, I'll restart again!
