Survive the playground quest?
How do you survive the playground quest after you discover the murderer? I have Fidel, Hex, and the dog. 12 enemies is a bit much.

Killing enemies is a good strategy. Jokes aside, I've done it solo numerous times with some drugs. It's a pretty easy fight with no risk at all, so I guess it's your build that is at fault. Saving the dude is the hard part, but if you don't care about that it's super-easy.

No idea what I did then. I've specialized in rifles. Fidel uses SMGs. Hex uses automatics. I'm only level 14. Maybe that's the issue.

I have another question. I rode the boat back to Kraz. Now I have a -1 strength modifier on my main character for no reason. I have tried eating, taking pills etc.

There are currently no modifiers active and I have checked my gear. Nothing should be affecting it. This is odd. There are no status effects on my character screen.

Yep it was a bug. I had to wear my rad suit for the boat ride or else I would have had a permanent -1 to strength. That's the first real bug I've encountered.

You can avoid the fight if you raise your strength to 10(use drugs/alcohol).

I had something like this too once. I got a strength penalty and there were no indicators. I stayed at the inn at KNZ, and it mysteriously went away. Until now I still haven't figured out what caused it. I just assumed it was caused by fatigue and my character was sleep-deprived.

I passed the playground fight with a STR check because I really wanted the Detective to live. Instead of satisfaction, I was really disappointed by how anticlimatic it was. orz

I finished the game today. I was level 14 on my main character - which apparently wasn't enough. I simply respec my character to pass the skill checks at the end. The last two fights were really difficult. I didn't want to grind XP for the next two days just to see a different ending. All in all, the game was good but the ending proved really hard.

Dude. I beat the game on Level 22 and even I had difficulty with the fights.

With that said, I wasn't really going for a combat-build and I hadn't really been grinding.

Well dang, I guess I really pushed through the main story. I wonder if I missed a lot of content.

Not really hard if you prepared. I'm on lvl 25 with all party fully armored with bulletproof vest and the best helmet. I'm focused on automatic weapon with some rifles. the key to the fight is identify the grenadier first (ya know the area damage and stun is bad for your party) i'm putting fidel and alexander with grenade and hex on RPD while im on RPK. Trying to save the detective on full fight is next to impossible i think since his health pool is very low and he had no armor. if you skipped the combat you'll lose 2 best armor in the game which is very rare afaik (combat armor, hedgehog helmet)

Preparation is key here. give your companion grenade and invest in throwing weapon (grenade is a good crowd control because of area damage and stun chance for 2 full round and heavy crossbow with metal arrows can one hit kill almost every enemy) Use automatic weapon, i prefer RPK for it's accuracy and low AP cost and as in InEffect's guide you should have 10 dexterity for 10 AP and with RPK you get 2 time short burst and combined with AP ammo it's 2 enemy down in one turn.
