Is Trudograd a DLC or a completely new game?

Do I have to start a new character, or I could continue using the character I have now?

It's a new game made with the same but slightly modified engine, re-using a lot if not all the old assets with some new assets, new people and story.

No, it is not a DLC but it is not a waste, I heard that you can import your character.

I think it is confirmed that you can import your character from the original. Not sure the full details on how that will work. I will probably roll a new character unless I am allowed to respec as my build was far from great.

Considering development has/was stopped on original I would say so. Trudograd is a direct sequel

Yes it's how it looks, not a DLC but totally a sequel, and as some or many sequels it continues a story and world. I'm a bit disappointed it's not on Mac like the original game, but I'm not sure I would play it in Early Access phase so if it is on Mac at release I suppose it's great enough. If not at all, I'll wait a nice sale price.
