Strange serum on team mates

So I got this game less than a month ago and somehow I already put 203 hours in to it, and no those are not left on without playing hours. I am addicted. Anyway, I found out there are cheats recently and so I started ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around to see what sort of stuff I can break. I subsequently spawned in a bunch of strange serum and tried using it on team mates and it just still adds the point to yourself.

While I'm sure no one out there would choose their team mate over their self to stat boost, I can't help but wonder why not at least allow it. Maybe I want an 11 int dog.

Because the serum is not yet fully developed, it will have some negative effects as well in the future.
The companions are mostly flavour and maybe we will have more uses for them in the future, don't worry, the game is not yet finished
