Where can I find fishing bait in the starter town?

I love fishing in games. Noticed a pond with a pole outside the starter town. Any idea where to find some bait?

to continue the tip - you'll need to go during THE DAY and find a guy that is around the pond, need to have booze that reduces radiation (vodka works best, but moonshine will work - usually i like to keep the stuff that isn't too harmful on my stats ), for critters you'll need to always have a knife in your inventory (just like getting meat) - shank won't work
