Can't open Bunker 137 Elevator

So, I made a character with the Technophobe trait and I think the game can't actually continue unless I forgo that and pump my tech skill to 30 or so.

The very first floor of Bunker 137 requires my character to be able to boot up the old computer in a room next to it, so the elevator door can open up. Thing is, though, since my character is a Technophobe, she had 1 point in Tech at the beginning but now, at level 8, has 11 because she read a book on it once. So, even at level 8 with both Fidel and Hex on my team I can't actually proceed with the story and visit the Bunker proper, since no one is able to pick the lock to the elevator (despite Fidel having 60 points in tech now) and they can't interact with the computer in my stead.

So, am I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and can't finish this part of the main quest because I chose a trait available to me in the game? Or am I missing something here?

You can buy a toolkit to increase your tech by 20.

I went technophobe too, I just put points into it, forgot how much. You're going to have to just level up your tech skill.

Oh well, that's kinda bizarre, but thanks for the response, both of you.

Well, I got the toolkit that raises my tech by 20, equipped it, set that slot as active (buffing my tech to 31) and yet the computer still says my Tech level is too low. Funny thing is, I tried to look into Save File editing from other discussions here, but the game does not let me edit the save files, it just reverts them back to the original one, even if I turn cloud sync off. And the alternative is a russian .exe that I don't even remotely trust.

So...if anyone knows how to edit the save or some way to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out of the computer room, I'm all ears. Otherwise, it will have to be hours of grinding so I can raise my tech skill to a nebulous amount despite the fact that the game gave me an option to be technologically impaired. Seriously though, I don't understand why can't I just pick the lock like I could in one of the early builds.

Well no ♥♥♥♥ my dude, but I never expected the main quest to have only ONE solution that depends on a out-of-combat skill that I even am able to pick a trait to gimp me on it. Especially with a game that has a lot of different ways to complete quests (that i have seen so far) to have a single solution to a problem, in a main quest no less, is profoundly bizarre. Even more so when that didn't use to be the case back in early builds.

I have lockpick on 75 and no such luck. And if there is a key that would open it, I'd love to know where it is.

did you use the chain of keys that give +30 lockpick? i didn't have any problems with that

Why are you surprised, you know well enough already that the game will not hold your hand. I went technophobe as well but even I was able to use the computer to open the elevator, I think it was at 25-30 without a toolkit. Reap what you sow man. Oh yeah, there's also the prybar if you can find one, that can open some doors though idk if it works on that elevator.

As for that key, you get it pretty early at the Factory, below is the details.
You get the chain of keys from Shishack at the Factory after he dies from his failed coup. This happens after you settle the election quest in Otradnoye you get from the Factory.
