Recommended build
Im finishing my first playthrough of Insomnia: The Ark and Im ready to Atom.
I remember a few days ago browsing the forum for recommended builds but cant seem to find it now.
Anyway, what would be the points distribution and perks I was thinking for a sniper with high speech checks and I will def use companions.
Any other tips are welcome.

Your main decision is probably whether to dump luck or raise it higher. Str (4-5), End (5), Dex (4), Int (8+), Att(6+), Personality (8+), Luck (Dumped to 2 or needs to be high to be worth it). You can fiddle with the stats to your liking there. Numbers are imprecise because I've finishd the game and can't check on the fly. For distinctions, shooting gallery fan and then if you dump luck you could do the unlucky one. For skills you won't need to raise your main gun skill beyond like 80, speechcraft aim for 120+, tinkering if you want to craft everything you'll need 40-45.

Have fun.

I went with Child prodigy and lucky one 8 4 10 10 7 4 4 and boosted PER to 6 and 5 luck with the two permaboosts and the luck boost avaible. you can change child prodigy for other traits that give a maximum amount of extra stats for another penalty than XP if you hate to trade slower levelling for maximum power. I beat the game without failing any checks once I had all the boosts.

This build allows you to do everything, use any weapon type the game offers and will not mathematically lock you out of any content because of failing checks. it's the build with the best stats mathematically and allows you to raise every stat to maximum circumstancially.

If you boost this build right with bonus-only consummable it looks like this:
11 10 11 10 7 8 5. And I might be missing some fancy bonus.
I beat every boss battle solo no companions on normal difficulty without spending a single perkpoint in combat related perks.
It's a generalist/completionist build meant to enjoy the maximum amount of content on a first run.
You'll see lots of people complaining they were locked by failing checks triggering too difficult encounters you cannot flee from, well with this build, I could pass ALL checks in all instances as well as kill everybody anyways. I also accidentally rushed the ending before rerolling, I did the final boss fights solo at lvl 12 without much problems.

Nice build, you should put it up as a guide.

My toon has 8 str, 6 endurance, 8 dex, 6 intelect, 6 attention, personality 2 and Luck 4, with sex appeal. It just works XD

Thanks a lot.
So is 8 str mandatory for end game weapons ? Or only for heavy but I could use the best sniper with just only 6 ?
And is the perk that gives you +1 to all but you need more xp to lvl good too ?

If you desire, there is an Ability you can unlock that removes ALL strength penalties on weapons.

Early game you will find melee builds better to play as in Atom success is heavily relient on equipment for range players, here are the best melee builds I have found so far:

Tank: S11 E11 D11 I6 A2 P2 L1: Child Prodigy + Technophobe: 20 skill points in Melee Weapons

Luck of Irish Melee Build: S7 E7 D11 I5 A2 P4 L1: Child Prodigy + Lucky One: 20 skill points in Melee Weapons

Lucky Glass Cannon Melee Build:S11 E4 D11 I4 A2 P2 L10: Child Prodigy + Unlucky Optimist: 20 skill points in Melee Weapons

And what skills are mandatory to raise ? Like speechcraft or tinker to craft weapons maybe ?
What would be best to raise early on and then the end game ones.

10 int, 10 att, 10 dex, then speechcraft, doctor and cursed sniper perks. After that make some levels and get the perks for extra skill points per level. after that....well, pick a weapon skill and start thinking of crafting and another good skill
