Oops, I killed the bandits first... (spoilers)

So I accidently killed the factory bandits before talking to the village leader(well, ok, killing bandits isn't accidental) . Now I'm stuck, he asked me to kill the bandits but there's no dialog for that situation just "I have important information about the bandits!" then... argh. Nothing.
Any suggestions? Did I miss a dialog option somewhere?
I know I can't talk to the bandits now, they're "napping" off their lead poisoning. :)

The village leader didn't ask you to kill the bandits, did he? He asked you to infiltrate them, from what I remember...

The so called Factory bandits are not as bad as the name suggested, they are actually protection. So if you kill them... yeah you did something wrong lol.

if you kill them and bring Dan's ring to Kovalev (the village head) he'll reward you...but it's more "profitable" to keep them alive in the long run at least you can do some quests and get rewards

I did this as well...and it wasn't easy. My reward? It nerfs a lot of quests and dialog options. Looks like I can't get the car or to the elections.
I guess Dan was a Mary Sue...you can't kill him or kill him "out of order" without messing up a main quest line...it's like playing a text game from 1984 where you can't think or act outside of what the developers want to happen.

You can't get the election quest, but you can get the car.
Only thing needed for the car is that you are Lvl 10 or above, and talk to the guy besides the statue of Lenin in Krasnoznamenny.

Yes. You can still get the car for yourself. But I think you won't get Kovalev's car quest because there's no election.
