The Comissar's Quest (Old Scrapyard)

The Comissar wants the Statue of Lenin back. I was able to retrieve it via a peaceful (without firing a single bullet) settlement at the Old Scrapyard, and I got credit for completing the quest. What if I go back (I'm not welcome there) and shoot up the place, killing all the mutants and claiming the scraps. Will I break the game? Are there any consequences for this action.

guess will have to wait and see ....trying to get a huge charisma dump so that i can go there - but the thing is i will start a new char after the next update, so i'll go on a scrap yard killing spree next week :))

You know, I forgot about this earlier thread, and I also forgot that I had made the same inquiry about breaking the game then. After wiping out all the mutants, I learned that the XP gain is merely 1,344. I also learned that the total amount of scrap metal collected is about 150 pieces. It's not worth the risk of breaking the game. I'll resume from an earlier save game.

With regards to getting into the Old Scrapyard, it is very simple: You just walk in, disregarding the front gate guard's warning. This will trigger a fight; the whole camp goes after you, BUT they don't converge on you. Instead, you'll hunt them down, one at a time. I did not count, but I think there were about 10 mutants. If you just want to go in and explore the area, you'll not be able to, even with a Speechcraft = 199. Note, this scenario is after the Comissar's quest is completed.

knew about the fight thing, my problem was that i though it had more than scrap, the loot on the bodies clearly worths around 1k roubles, even if it's basic low tier gear

I just spent like two hours on the commissar's quest. I fought all the mutants along side the red guards but the fight is set up so that the whole place agros at once so you have to stay in turn based mode for the whole thing. The NPCs don't aggo all the time though so I had to chase one chickenshit, slightly wounded mutant with a rifle to the very corner of the map in turn mode only to find that there was another back in the command hiding in a building with a rusty knife... all the while Red Guards with shotguns stand around. This mission is either not well thought out or the devs are intentionally punishing us with their own design flaws. I'm fine with the game being hard but this is just annoying. Also early in the ring each turn took like 30 seconds because all the slow ass npcs had to move. Then in the end you win thousands of rubels worth of rusty junk that you can't move or find anyone to buy. I just want cash to buy fancy ammo for my good gun and pay the informant off.

I love Atom but this quest sucks.

The Car is in the Scrapyard^^ so you need to do a few runs to the Car but you can clear the Scrapyard quit easy ;)
If you got 120 Barter and 120k you can buy the Scrapyard XP reward is 1k i think higher than the Kill XP ,no fight needed with araund 100 Spechcraft you get the Statue with a Lie then ^^

Ok, I have 107 speechcraft and the lie fails for me. What the hell? How high do I need?

I don't remember the exact number, but I think I had 120. If you don't want to raise it that high there is a hat that gives +15. But I have to warn you that if you take the peacefull route for the statue you will only be able to get the car if you buy the scrapyard (for 120k) or decide to murder everyone on your own.
