The idol seems to be specific to Luck, though there are two other ways (as far as I know) to raise any one stat of your choice.

The other one is the Golden Fish, in Otradoyna. Fish patiently enough, in the usual spot, and you may catch a talking fish who will offer you a wish. I'm pretty certain that a high luck stat raises the odds that you catch him, but I don't know the exact chance. The two times I have managed to catch him, were both with very lucky characters.

i cant get the totem to work, i offer 3 meat and then i die. maybe it doesnt work after i carved something on it.....

Yes, if you have vandalized the idol, then feeding it will just piss it off. As far as I know, there's no way to fix that once you've carved on it.

cant find the one in the underground, only found the venus and the painting, but cant do anything with that.

if i remember right, u find some sort of syringe i think it was underground, if u use it u get +1 stat of choice, im not 100% though, was a while since i played

ahh ok, thx that one i found, just someone mentioned an idol in the underground and i only found the venus.

no the idol is on the surface near and old couple camping, wooden totem, DO NOT carve anything on it though :)

i know what you mean - it will also influence the lockpicking chances a bit, although the extra points put somewhere else help, my personality is also close/under 3 so i get a few NPC's that won't interact with me because of that, but overall i rather survive
just get to that idol and get a +1 luck ;)
