Halloween? random encounter

So. i encountered a random event where i was attacked by numerous critters, in waves, with a lot more every wave.

This is the first time in this game that i encountered this "king off the hill" or "try to stay alive" type of scenario.

Most noticeably, in this encounter the graphics and sounds were distorted. The graphics were purple/red-ish with an ominous look, and the background music was all spooky-like, so my guess is that this is a Halloween easter egg / gag of somekind?

Yeah, ok. great. funny, hah. hah. i can appreciate that. but not this: It's impossible to win this fight (i've tried 10 times!)

So you better hope you have a good recent savegame somewhere before you encounter this "gag".

Yea its because of halloween. Just an extra event besides the pumpkin heads. I started a new playthrough and my characters are not strong enough to survive it either.

Regarding saved games, quick save a lot, also on the world map. But do note you can easily walk away from this encounter the same way with scavvers of caravans.

It's a "for fun" event that was made to only last while it's Halloween. An endless fight that can be turned off in the menu so only those who wanna play it will play it.
