Very true.
At the end of the day what matters is for the player to be happy with the result and for the character to become more fleshed out as the result of being based on an existing character (fictional or otherwise).
I've been tempted to play an Atom character loosely based on SIE from Alpha Protocol myself so I can understand the appeal.
Last but not least I'd suggest using a custom made portrait in game just to get the right vibe for the character. ;)
Nice to have a RPG with a decent community!

Getting a cool portrait for Revy shouldn't be too hard.
Black Lagoon is actually a pretty good series even for people who are not into anime.
