2) I think the zip gun slug crafting recipe is called "Round" here in your crafting options.
When you read recipe it is safe to sell recipe as you describe.
3) It can be fun but it can be tedius and not worth the hastle. For example (Throwing) Crossbow final upgrade shoots 2 bolts and can one(two?)-shot about 60% of encounters, very rewarding for a thrower. Likewise the final revolver you craft is very low AP (aldo nerfed) and is great for a -1 Pistolero who has that one perk that ups dmg 20% and one before that stops crafting guns from jamming. So quite fun sometimes if you build character around it. I recomend everyone try it atleast on one character.
4) First in KRZ outscirts pub, second Red Fighter rabbit house, a dog as a random encounter, forth guy you find again in Red Fighter after some upgrading there. There is some evil one that if you recruite everyone in the world becomes hostile.
5) Speech checks are fixed afaik its just the high checks go into the 130-160 range.
6) Depends on the place but i would say moustly static as you describe it, i could be wrong.
This a lot of trouble in carrying management, and it's less income, and a significant amount of time to manage the inventory.
There's two reasons to do it, crafting, some quests that request to collect junk.
Crafting: Like said Grozd craft can be fun but it's better for a character planned for it, I suggest gave up on craft for first play.
Collect junk quests: There's some collect junk quests, but all the inventory management troubles will make you lost more time for most of them. If you tend be completionist and can't bear a quest not done, or if you tend rush and hate lost time, that is you like do quests asap when you get them, then it could worth lost the time in inventory management and collect crap. Otherwise I advise sell the crap and don't bother.
2) Crafted slug
There are slug Homemade ammo but they are named Pellet. But only the crafted weapon Air Pistol uses it. About recipes, often their description quote names that are different that the crafted item. When you learn a new recipe, check carefully the log, a message will tell the name that will be used in crafting list. Another aspect that can help is above crafting list there are icons that can allow sort the recipes (ammo, weapons, and so on).
3) Crafting utility
Agree with Grozd, keep crafting for a future play planed for it, ignore for first play.
4&5) Agree with Grozd answers
6) It's not fully static, sometimes rumors will evolve to reflect an action you did. Sometimes a quest will add a new dialog option but then in most case the quest log will lead you to this NPC. So it's not fully static, but it's not worth check again systematically each NPC. One special case is a quest starts an election, then most NPC in the village have some new dialog. Another special case is when you do an investigation in this village, then most NPC have a new dialog option related to it. But otherwise it's more limited and specific to quests.
Just a minor correction to second part(2)).
A slug is 1 solid bullet, game name is zip-gun round.
The other zip-gun ammo(the pellets) are called Zip-gun shot round(buck shot).
Other than that, solid comments.
What a d i c k .
(Homemade) Pellet is used by the Air Pistol only. Search Pellets here:

For some reason (once more) the English wiki is incomplete for ammo list. Here one more complete, check the ammo table, and weapons table :

Right about the slug, wrong about the pellets.
