Kovalev's Car Quest

I don't want to give away any spoilers, but does the outcome of the quest change if I opt to buy the car parts from the scavengers rather than the guy in Krasnoznamenny?

I finished the quest last night after name dropping Kovalev to the dealer in Kras, and then reloaded to a much earlier save to repeat the quest without name dropping Kovalev, expecting a different conclusion, but nothing changed. I've reloaded again, and have spent the last several hours combing the world map, trying to find scavengers but so far have only managed to secure one of the car parts.

Before I potentially waste any more hours, has anyone gone the scavenger route? Does it actually make a difference to the conclusion of the quest?

AFAIK it doesnt matter at all. The final outcome is still the same.

I can confirm that the outcome is the same, no matter how you get the parts.

During Pre-Version 1.0, I went to the dealer for the two car parts. In this current version, I wandered the wasteland looking for scavengers AND got the needed two car parts--never once spoken with Artemyev. The outcomes were the same! Poor Kavalev.
