Kruber is just more technical in his bullying.
But Markus does take the piss at Salty every now and then, it is just a lot more good natured.
Roasting always goes both ways between characters in this game.
is this behaviour towards him explained in the lore somewhere?
It's just that I main Victor and it gets annoying after a while.
The only person Bardin really gets aggravated at is the elf -- and even then there's still a warmth in his voice, still seems more bemused by her attitude than actually upset.
Bytheway lore wise he's not the most powerful heroe in the team, which is the elf by far without a doubt, then the mage quite ahead of the last 3. Hence Viktor calling elf for help anytime he's overwhelmed for he knows she's their best asset : powerful, fast and reliable, whereas the mage is powerful but not fast nor really reliable, especially because she uses magic.
1. Viktor isnt a noble. Witch hunters in general arent nobles. Viktor himself is the son of a blacksmith, and adopted by the Order of the Silver Hammer. Viktor himself even says he was born in an insignificant hovel near Senden in Middenland, a place so insignificant its not listed ever in lore. They often work for nobles but are most often themselves regular men or mercenaries, perhaps working for one of the cults. As well they often operate outside of the law and do what they see fit, not what the law allows.
2. In regards to Viktor gathering the team this is simply not the case. Bardin and Kerillian happened to be passing through Ubersreik separately at the time of the pactsworn invasion. Both were exiled from their homes in stories that are slowly being examined. Meanwhile, Saltzpyre and his hired hand Kruber were taking Sienna to be put on trial for witchcraft, destruction of property, and murder. During the attack the group took refuge in the Red Moon Inn and became allies with Lohner and Oleysa. They are all allies of convenience, not a purposely assembled group. Though they have mostly learned to get along and defer leadership to Saltzpyre and Lohner.
3. There arent power levels mentioned in the lore of Vermintide. If we are talking GW lore plenty of Humans have gone head to head with elves and dwarfs and been their betters. Skill with a blade, bow or gun counts for something regardless of race. Not to mention the chance of the interference of the gods.
4. Viktor never calls upon the elf specifically or at least any more than he calls upon his other comrades. She wouldnt help anyway as she is self serving and an ally of convenience. It is well established that Viktor and Kerillian do NOT like each other almost at all. They barely even trust eachother, often threatening eachothers lives and bickering over ideals. They fight together because alone they are surely dead.
1- Well, I thought so according to the picture we unlock, not such a fan of lohner's texts.
2- This is Viktor still whom band them together, dwarf and elf were good meetings indeed, yet they followed him whereas they have zero interest in defending the empire, outcasts or not. He was not going for a trial about sienna, this is a mere excuse to bring sienna with him (see Vtide 1) and he certainly did not need kruber as bodyguard to do so : he could has kill her upon the charges on her if he wanted to. He surely was looking for skavens since he lost an eye to an eshin assassin and as any Hannibal : he needed his A team for that.
3- Vermintide is made with warhammer lore, a waywatcher is a very strong unit able to kill any of the other hero on his own, waystalker are even stronger. Not to mention all the other elf career : why do you think FS always make them so strong ? Of course they all have their chances practically but theorically elf is definitely the stronger.
4- I main BH and anytime viktor is in deep s...t or when the elf take a good beating, he calls for her with quite a paniqued voice, not for kruber whom he tends to tease. Just saying.
